Go-To Makeup Look!

Hello everyone! Today I thought I would show you all my go-to look for during the day on weekends, when I feel like I want to make an effort but not be too glam. Most of these products are high street brands, some are a little more pricey but there is always great alternatives that work both ways.  I really enjoy these kinds of posts as sometimes youtube tutorials can be a little intense, so I hope you like it as much as I liked doing it!

To begin I do my morning skincare routine which you can read here. This leaves my face refreshed from the cleanse and nice and clean.

Then I quickly moisturise with the Olay Complete Day Cream. I have grown to love this as its targeted for normal/dry skin which is perfect for me as well as the matching night cream which is a little more thicker. Following this I cover my face in a thin layer of the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser, really targeting my t-zone and other areas prone to larger pores.

Next I apply my new Too Faced Born This Way foundation in the shade Vanilla all over my face using a damp beauty blender, which leaves my skin seamless and I just find it the best way to apply foundation. I have recently fallen in love with Too Faced products, especially this foundation as the coverage is great and really buildable (I have a review of the product coming soon). Next I apply the Rimmel Wake Me Up concealer in the shade Ivory underneath my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, a little on my chin and then in-between my brows and up my forehead. This is also a new product I've tried as I usually use the collection perfection concealer, but I found the consistency of this product to be so much better and long lasting.

Next I grab my Collection Highlight and Sculpt Palette which I use every day. I run the highlight on the top of my cheekbones and the darker matte brown contour shade around my hairline and onto my cheeks to create a defined cheekbone.

This is followed by my favourite of all blushers in the world, the Benefit Dandelion Blush. It is such a lovely rose pink shade that is perfect for any skin tone, and very subtle yet can be layered to become more obvious for evening looks etc. I also love the consistency of this blush and would definitely pay the extra money for it compared to hughstreet brands. Skin done, I head onto my eyes.

(So far I look like this!)

Today I decided to go for a pale shimmery shade from the Revolution Salvation Palette. I used shade three from the top row all over my lid and then shade five still on the top for the crease and outer edge. This just gave a little bit of depth but nothing to dark and glam. I then used the Soap and Glory Supercat liner (which I totally forgot to photograph) to do a small simple flick. I love doing flicks as they make any eye look seem more though about and put together. I also love that you can do a really dramatic flick or just a simple one like I did depending on the occasion. The Supercat Liner is amazing as its like a felt tip with a really thin end that is great for precision, which helps people like me who are pretty useless.

I then filled in my brows with Soap and Glory's Archery in the the shade Brownie Points, using both the precision point stain to fill in little gaps with hair like strokes, and then the crayon to colour in the brows more and give them the overall shape. I then used Benefits Roller Lash (review here) and Maybelline Lash Sensational together on my eyelashes to make them both thick and curled which work great when not using eyeliner or any product on the lower lash line.

I then use my trusty Natural Collection Lipstick in the shade Autumn Glow. I keep this in my handbag and is definitely the most used make up product I own, as I simply love it. Its the perfect nude shade,  which has a subtle shine but nothing to much, and is very moisturising. Perfect for an everyday look like this one.

The Finished Look

I love this look, its really simple and effective as its not to much but definitely more noticale than an everyday look that I would wear to say work or just during the week. Let me know what you guys think, and whether I should do more posts similar to this!
